Dingač is unquestionably the highest quality Croatian black grape. It thrives on the slopes of Dingač hill in extreme conditions that make it different from any other grape, apart from Postup, which is the most similar in quality and geographical position. There is a lot known about Dingač, and the best evidence of its quality is the fact that during the Austro-Hungarian period harbors with warehouses were built only for its purchase in the picturesque bays on the southern side of Pelješac, this wine would end up on the tables of crowned European rulers as soon as possible.
