The first energy bar
One of the greatest soldiers and commanders in the history of Dalmatia was indeed the Emperor Diocletian, who came from Solin, a small town near Split.
This great military commander felt the call of duty throughout his life. He was a tall and strong man, with blue eyes, somewhat short with words, but a great believer, an intellectual. During his stay in Dalmatia, he built one of the most famous palaces of the Roman Empire, Diocletian's Palace in Split. What impressed this giant were the beauties and treasures of this region. However, what caught his attention the most, and which he also gifted to his soldiers, was a small humble fruit full of nutritional values.
Diocletian liked how such a simple and juicy fruit bear so many times, the more it was picked for him, the more it returned. This grateful and abundant fruit is a fig, and a cake was prepared from it during the emperor's time in the belief that it would restore strength to those who eat it.
