GRK FEVER IS SPREADING: New Adria Grk appeared at Deliiicije

Vina Adria boasts a quite serious bottle collection, which is produced for this label by known Croatian winemakers. Adria Teran and Adria Malvazija are always excellent, and Dingači win awards at regional wine competitions. Vina Adria, exclusively sold at the Deliiicije supermarket chain, has just enriched its portfolio with the first Adria Grk.
Grk has become the most sought after Croatian wine in the last few years. There are two reasons for the fever surrounding the wines produced from Grk. Firstly, there is very little Grk. Grk is only produced by about ten wineries on Korčula and three or four on Pelješac. Secondly, this autochthonous Dalmatian variety produces truly special wines. Grk is highly concentrated, high in alcohol, but can also boast good acidity. Grk is, thus, simultaneously very rich and fresh, with serious aging potential.
Moreover, Grk produces very terroir wines; it's a recognizably southern wine in both bouquet and taste: it bursts with sun, sea, rosemary, makija and citrus. Adria's first Grk follows the dominant stylistic of the variety. It is noticeably oily, concentrated, almost luxuriously textural, warm to the nose and gastronomically versatile (noble white fish, lobsters, shrimps, risotto, but also bluefin tuna and veal fillet)
It is unusual, however, that Adria Grk has nothing bitter in the taste; a slight bitterness is a typical organoleptic characteristic of wines produced from Grk. Despite this, there is no doubt that Adria's Grk will sell well, as Grk is the ultimate bestseller of the Croatian wine scene.
